Sept 18 - Nov 13

The ancient Macedonian city Thessalonica — modern day Thessaloniki, Greece — was a 2nd location in Europe where the Gospel was shared by the Apostle Paul.  It went really well…and really bad.  Paul and his friend Silas were slandered and beaten and jailed but miracles happened and people began following Jesus. Paul wrote two letters to the new Christians there helping them understand how to do church and do life under the Lordship of Jesus.  Complicating things, seriously following Jesus comes with some persecution so Paul was encouraging them with information, hope, and an eternal perspective.  From this letter written 1,971 years ago, we too can experience future hope today.
